    • Sail down narrow waterways on a local sampan to admire the lush vegetation and active life of the local people along the riverbanks

    In the afternoon, arrive in the area of Sa Dec:

    • Embark a traditional sampan and tour towards Binh Thanh Island, one of the larger ones in the vast stream of the Mekong

    • Board our local boat and cruise past floating houses and finally reach a floating fish farm. This region is the source of a fish production that is sold all over the world. Here we get a deep insight on how fish farming works

    Departure from Phnom Penh at dawn towards Silk Island to discover the traditional crafts of the Khmer country and meet weavers. Beautiful walk on the island of weavers, where, in houses on stilts, you will admire the dexterity of these women who carry out these marvelous weavings the old-fashioned way, on authentic looms

    Angkor Ban, a small village located on the banks of the Mekong, is one of the rare villages not destroyed under the Khmer Rouge regime. Many cubic and stilt houses are still in perfect condition. Here, time seems to have stopped. The villagers live peacefully in harmony with generous nature, in the shade of banana trees

    Back on board Jahan, the day will continue pleasantly as your ship heads towards Kampong Cham

    Cruise towards Kampong Chhnang on the Tonle River

    Kampong Chhnang is a bustling rural port town. By road, a lovely journey through the countryside dotted with rice fields to the village of Aundaung Russey, famous for its terracotta pottery, typical of Cambodia

    Then, discovery of the floating villages and fish farms in the region

    Explanations about Tonlé Sap:

    The dry season is from December to April. During this period the river normally flows into the Mekong. The inhabitants live on dry land and travel on motorbikes

    Then comes the rainy season. The water level of the Mekong rises considerably and Lake Tonlé Sap is formed, which becomes the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia.

    Motorcycles are being replaced by boats

    Tonlé Sap is home to an ecosystem of great diversity. It is one of the most important freshwater fish reserves as it is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. Fishing is practiced there using ancestral techniques
