Yala
Yala - the southernmost province of Thailand, has a typical landscape of mountains and forests. The word 'Yala' comes from the folk language here 'yalor' meaning fishing net because now the town has a mountain that looks very much like a fishing net. In fact, on topography Yala is a lowland area and people here live mainly on fishing.
The area of this province is 4,521 km2, bordering the provinces of Songkhla, Pattini and Narathiwat. This is the only province in 14 southern provinces not adjacent to the sea. The most famous landscape of this locality is a reclining Buddha statue at Khuhaphimuk temple, 8 km from Yala town, has a history from the 8th century. It is one of the 3 most important monuments of the southern sesame. The natural landscape here has the Than To waterfall, located on the Yala-Betong highway. In the middle of the high forest area surrounded by high mountains, this waterfall flows through seven stone floors
